Berserker Class Overview

Page history last edited by Azmodan 10 years, 10 months ago

Class Overview:

The Berserker is the class with the highest firepower playable in Monster Evolution. In exchange it is also the class with the lowest health and resistances. Have a look at the Stats Overview for the exact numbers. To make it even more deadly almost all abilities of the berserker have to do something with damage, be it faster shooting, more damage in exchange for life, retaliation or damaging shouts. The Berserker class is also the only one that can roll magic weapons for the party. Since the Berserker only gains adrenaline by killing enemies, adrenaline supplies from a support char are highly appreciated. His ability to steal life by hitting enemies (Life Siphon) lets this class stay alive as long as the enemy fire doesn't get too bad.

Development:

Rank 1: Most fragile thing possible on the ME server. 100 maximum base HP makes it hard to survive. Stealing health from enemies is almost impossible (cap at 50HP). A Magic Weapon Maker that easily breaks provides some magic weapons but nothing you can rely on. Shout to quickly leave this rank.

Rank 2: Still vulnerable but twice the base HP (200, vamp up to 100) give you a fighting chance. The unbreakable weapon maker proofs to be very useful. Later on you can start with weapon upgrading but at least 150 adrenaline is advised for that.

Rank 3: Still less max HP than any other class would get on rank 2 but you can work with it. Special weapon makers become available, especially the freezing weapon maker is extremely useful to guard the whole party.

Rank 4: Finally as much HP as a rank 2 Protector! Extreme firepower and the resistances are better than one would expect of a Berserker.

Unique Ability:

The Berserker class doesn't have one but two unique abilities. First he gains 1 shield and 2 HP per kill per rank (4Shield/8HP on rank 4). It doesn't matter how you kill the enemy, tossing down, crushing with vehicle, shout, everything counts. The other Ability isn't really a good one. The Berserker's damage output is linked to his current life. For ever 2% of life he has less than maximum he loses 1% of damage. This ranges from 50%-110%. Meaning with 10% over base HP the berserker can do even more damage than usual but with just 50% of his base HP left, (The amount Life Siphon can heal up to) his output drops to 75% and reduces his biggest advantage.

Threat:

Your so called threat, is an invisible multiplier on any experience, for leveling, you gain by shooting enemies. Since the classes do different amounts of damage, the possibility of threat evens out the classes so every class has the same chances for experience.

The Berserker only has one possibility to gain threat and that is to roll and upgrade weapons.

Ability Recommendation:

Ammo Pouch (ME) -> no support in sight? Happens often enough, get it!

Critical Shot (ME) -> The last edge on damage but expensive.

Cry of Repulsion (ME) -> Useful against charging enemies but 40 adrenaline per use. There are some parts on certain maps where this ability can save the whole party ... or kill it if you use it wrong ...

Enhanced Ammo Pickups (ME) -> Cheap enough to be useful. Only of use on maps that have single weapon ammo spawns, does not work on the supports ammo dumps.

Frenzy (ME) -> expensive but you can instantly roll a weapon that is either similar to a protective or a damage enchantment type.

Fury (ME) -> only useful for bosses. You lose the damage you have dealt after deactivating (See unique abilities).

Life Siphon (ME) -> Your ticket to survival.

Loaded Berserker (ME) -> Get it as soon as possible.

Locked and Loaded (ME) -> Good on any map where you start with weapons, which aren't that many actually.

Perpetuating Soul (ME)  -> Your choice, either you get the chance to rez yourself by putting part of your soul with another player (He dies before you it is gone) or you buy the last levels of Trigger Happy. You can't have both but one of them is a must have.

Retaliation (ME) -> Most expensive thing there is.

Sacrifice (ME) -> Extreme damage and Threat at extreme cost.

Seeking Revenge (ME) ->  If you are a suicide bomber (see Veangeance) this is a must have.

Shout (ME) -> Cheap and gets you good Exp.

Trigger Happy (ME) -> up to 75% more shooting speed, get it (but don't forget the ammo). You can either have the last 5 levels of this or the Perpetuating Soul ability.

Vengeance (ME) -> Only advised for suicide bombers.

Weapon Smithing (ME) -> You need at least 150 better 200 adrenaline before this is usable.
